_The first question a potential RV buyer should ask themselves is how they realistically expect to use their fine recreational vehicle. Will it be for a year long trip around the country or more of an occasional weekend escape pod on wheels? Do you need it for one or two weeks out of any given year, or months at a time? How you plan to really use your RV is the hinge on which every other decision is made.

Here Are 5 Basic Things To Consider When Buying A Used RV...

1. Where will you store your used RV when you're not using?
If you can't store it at home, will you have to pay for storage elsewhere? That alone might make renting an RV a more viable option. Will you have covered storage, or will your RV be subject to extreme temperatures? Direct sunlight and heat wreak havoc on rubber. Rain and snow will be searching for small holes and cracks so you should consider some protective covering.

2. How many people do you envision going with you on your adventures?
If traveling with friends is more fun than not, then having an RV with adequate storage, sleeping capacity, etc., may point you to a larger model.

3. Will you be towing any vehicles or toys?
What size engine will you need? How about axles or tow packages?

4. How much storage will you need?
Will you only need room for your fishing poles? Or would you like to take your mountain bikes, extra outdoor furniture, etc.,

5. Do you know any good RV mechanics?
Unless you're mechanically inclined, you'll probably need to take your motorcoach to the doctor now and then. You might consider checking around to see where a reputable shop is and what they charge just to pop the hood. Go online to find reviews of various repair facilities and compare prices.
_
This is just a short list of things to consider – and to consider with a note pad, working pen and a calculator. When everything is said and done, renting an RV might be cheaper than buying in the long run.
